Dear customers,
We would like to inform you that the trade union ver.di has announced another short-notice warning strike at the Port of Hamburg as part of the ongoing collective bargaining negotiations with the Central Association of German Seaport Operators (ZDS).
The strike action will begin on Wednesday, 2 September 2026, with the start of the night shift and is scheduled to continue for 48 hours until the end of the late shift on Friday, 4 September 2026.
The renewed strike is expected to affect all container terminals in the Port of Hamburg and may again lead to significant disruptions in port operations, cargo handling, terminal processing, and transportation activities. Container repositioning within the port may also be restricted during this period. We strongly recommend taking these developments into account when planning your current and upcoming shipments.
Our team continues to closely monitor the situation and remains in close contact with terminals, carriers, and other relevant stakeholders to minimize any potential impact on your supply chain.
Please note that any additional charges or delay-related costs incurred as a result of the strike action cannot be covered by Nordicon.
Should you have any questions regarding your shipments or ongoing transports, please do not hesitate to contact denmark@nordic-on.com.
Thank you for your understanding.
