    When the Arctic ice retreats, a unique opportunity emerges

    Not all sea routes are navigable year-round. For a few weeks each late summer, the Northeast Passage through the Arctic becomes accessible, creating a unique opportunity to offer substantially shorter transit times between China and the Nordic region.

    At Nordicon, we are proud to stay at the forefront of logistics innovation by offering our customers this unique seasonal service.


    Arctic Route by Nordicon

    Arctic Route is a Premium Express Service that offers significantly shorter transit times than the traditional route via the Cape of Good Hope. The service is available for a limited season, with the first departure from China on 12 August and the final sailing on 30 September, before the Arctic ice once again closes the route.

    The service is operated by an experienced partner with whom we have built a long-standing and successful relationship. Their expertise and proven track record ensure a high-quality solution throughout the entire transport chain.

    The route passes exclusively through international waters and therefore does not transit Russia. This makes Arctic Route an attractive option for shipments where routing and regulatory compliance are key considerations, while also providing substantially shorter lead times.

    Arctic Route is available for both LCL and FCL shipments and accepts IMO-classified cargo.

    The first sailing, departing on 12 August, is expected to arrive on the European continent as early as 8 September. This means a transit time of just 27 days before the cargo continues onward to the Nordic countries.

    Pricing has not yet been finalized, but is expected to be in line with current rail rates. We will share the official rates as soon as they are available. In the meantime, we want to give our customers the opportunity to start planning for this unique seasonal service.

    Following the successful launch of our new D2D calculator, we at Nordicon are very excited to see so many of our customers already using the feature to calculate complete door-to-door prices between the USA and the Nordics.

    Being able to generate a price covering pickup, ocean freight, and final delivery in just a few seconds is something we’ve long dreamed of offering. That’s why it’s especially rewarding to see so many of you already discovering the value of this tool.

    As a first step, Nordicon D2D is available for both import and export between the USA and the Nordics, but this is just the beginning. We look forward to expanding to more markets in the future.


    From calculation to price in seconds

    For us, it was essential to offer a solution that truly simplifies an otherwise complex process. Making door-to-door pricing fast, clear, and accessible in one single neutral platform is something we are very proud of.

    In My Nordicon, you can now calculate complete door-to-door prices for LCL shipments between the USA and the Nordics in just a few clicks. You’ll find D2D directly on the homepage and under the Calculate & Book tab.

    All you need to do is enter the ZIP/postal code along with your shipment details, then click “Calculate.” You’ll instantly receive both price and transit time—door to door.



    Once your calculation is complete, you can easily choose to save the quote in My Quotes, export it to Excel, or email it directly to your inbox. If the pricing meets your expectations, you can conveniently proceed to place your booking straight from the calculation.

    Smoother logistics start with the right tools, and in My Nordicon, we have gathered everything you need in one place, simple, clear, and always within reach. Many of you already use the portal daily, but we also see that some features still have more to offer. That’s why we want to share both well-loved favourites and a few hidden gems you may not have discovered yet.


    Calculate now, act when it suits you with My Quotes

    Our calculator is one of the portal’s most appreciated features, and it’s easy to understand why. It’s fast, simple, and with just a few clicks, you get all the information you need to place a booking.

    But you don’t need to make a decision right away. With “Save to My Quotes”, you can store your calculations and return when the timing is right. All information remains saved, and nothing needs to be redone; just pick up where you left off whenever it suits you.

    This is also where Nordicon offers, so-called Spot Quotes, are collected. When you’re ready, you can easily proceed by booking your shipment, exporting to Excel, or sharing the quote via email.



    Full control all the way with My Bookings

    Once the booking is made, the next phase begins, and this is where the portal truly becomes your best colleague.

    Under My Bookings, you get a complete overview of all your ongoing and past assignments. You can see the current transport status, costs, and all relevant information linked to your shipment.

    You can track your cargo directly in the portal or receive updates via email; choose what suits you best. Here you will also find all important documents, such as B/L, invoices, and shipping documents, and you can easily upload your own documents, such as DGDs or shipping instructions.


    Smoother handling

    My Nordicon not only helps you book and follow up, but also simplifies the details along the way.


    B/L instructions (Export)

    Register and manage your B/L instructions directly in the portal via My Bookings. Your submitted and validated instructions will then be saved to the booking. The function is available until Closing and provides a clear overview of all key instructions for your shipment.


    Sorting (Import)

    Does your cargo need to be split upon arrival in Sweden? Simply add sorting instructions directly in the portal. The function is available for all import bookings until ETA and ensures smooth handling throughout the entire process. Submitted instructions are automatically saved to your booking.


    Non-stackable cargo – Send Request

    Consolidation is based on goods being properly packed and stackable in order to maximise loading. All freight rates and surcharges are based on this assumption, but cargo does not always meet these requirements. This may result in a consolidator charging an additional fee for container space that cannot be used, similar to chargeable linear metres in road transport.

    With the Send Request function, you can send an inquiry directly from the calculator to receive the correct price from the start. This reduces the risk of unexpected surcharges and saves time in the process.


    Agents

    Easily find export and import agents via Agents by selecting the country and port. You quickly get the right contact without unnecessary detours.




    Statistics

    In Statistics, you can easily create reports and gain better insight into your flows over time. A simple way to follow up, analyse, and make more informed decisions.




    Local Charges & Agreements

    Get direct access to local charges and agreements; everything is gathered and clearly presented for full transparency at every step.

One of them is that getting a door-to-door rate requires multiple steps and is both time-consuming and complex. It often involves several parties, different time zones, and a great deal of coordination before a complete price is finalized.

    That has been the reality for a long time. But we asked ourselves: Does it really have to be that way?

    Through insetting of renewable HVO100 and a verified Book & Claim method, Nordicon Trucking enables customers to reduce CO2 emissions from road transport by up to 90%, without changing transport setups or daily workflows.

    Situationen i Mellemøsten – General info for import og export #nordicondanmark

    Den nuværende situation i Mellemøsten påvirker i øjeblikket Nordicons services i regionen med forsinkelser, ruteændringer og/eller aflysninger af bookings til og fra området.

    Nordicon overvåger situationen nøje, og vi er i løbende dialog med de berørte parter for, at minimere forsinkelser og diverse udfordringer der måtte opstå. Eventuelle forsinkelser, meromkostninger eller andre operationelle konsekvenser, der opstår som følge af den nuværende situation, er uden for vores kontrol.

    Vi vil opdatere sejllisterne løbende på vores hjemmeside, efterhånden som nye alternativer bliver mulige. For forespørgsler til destinationer i regionen, kontakt os venligst på importdenmark@nordic-on.com & exportdenmark@nordic-on.com, så vil vi se på, hvilke alternativer vi kan tilbyde.


    Eksportvarer, der allerede er sejlet til Jebel Ali:

    MSC & andre rederier har allerede erklæret “End of Voyage” på enkle både. Det kan betyde, at alle bookings, der er på vej til Jebel Ali, vil blive placeret i en anden havn, der er udpeget af rederiet.

    Så snart vi har information om hver enkelt booking, vil vi informere alle afskibere om, hvordan containeren videre vil blive håndteret.  Al håndtering medfører yderligere omkostninger, uden for vores kontrol, som i overensstemmelse med vores konnossement § 14.4 vil blive opkrævet afskiberen.


    Warrisk & Brændstofberedskabstillæg: 

    Da rederierne  med kort varsel kan og vil annoncerer omkostninger i form af Warrisk, divese add ons, som følge af re- routing og øgede BAF omkostninger, kan vi være tvunget til, at opdaterer allerede gældende tilbud, det være sig både Spot Quotes & FAK rater, som allerede er sendt ud og aktiveret med bookings.

    Nye tilbud/priser vil være tilgængelige i portalen i løbet af de næste dage, og vi anbefaler, at du bruger vores beregner på MY NORICON, så meget som muligt, da forskellige tilføjelser kan blive opdateret løbende, indtil situationen har stabiliseret sig nogenlunde. Importrater revideres 9/3 forventelig. Exportrater opdateres forløbigt idag 6/3.

    Samtidig vil vi gerne fremhæve, at situationen under de nuværende omstændigheder kan ændre sig hurtigt. Derfor er alle forespørgsler i øjeblikket ‘med forbehold for ændringer uden forudgående varsel’.

Any additional charges imposed by ocean carriers or authorities — including but not limited to War Risk Surcharge (WRS), Emergency Risk Surcharge (ERS), Bunker Adjustment Factor (BAF), Peak Season Surcharge (PSS), congestion surcharge, or similar — shall be applicable and payable as incurred.

    Sailings may be delayed, suspended, rerouted, or cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to war, sanctions, government regulations, port closures, or other force majeure events. Any detention, demurrage, storage, or additional port-related costs arising from such delays or operational disruptions shall be for the account of the cargo owner/consignee.


    We are closely monitoring the situation and coordinating with carriers and partners to minimize impact wherever possible.
