    Nordicon has entered a global partnership with ECU Worldwide, which is the leading network for consolidation with its own operations in 180 countries and offers door-to-door deliveries in 52 markets worldwide.
    




    This is a strategic decision to guarantee a stable future and opportunities for further development of the Nordicon group as the leading neutral consolidator in both ocean and rail, as well as neutral terminal services in the Nordic region.
    




    This partnership will not involve any changes to Nordicon’s range of services, customer service, technical solutions, or management/organization. ECU Worldwide is a perfect partner that creates great added value for Nordicon and our customers. A collaboration that gives us the conditions to achieve our goals in IT development and digital innovation. We will maintain Nordicon’s current customer portal My Nordicon and integrate our systems with ECU’s digital platform “ECU360”, which expands our possibilities for more efficient traceability of our door-to-door transports.
    




    On 1 September we successfully changed partners to ECU Worldwide in Japan, the USA, and Canada for our consolidations. Now the process from the remaining origins in China, the Far East, and Sub India for bookings with departure from November 1st has begun.  
    




    It is now very important that our customers take this information into account, and make sure to redirect your bookings to our new partner. Necessary information such as first departures and contact details to our new partner ECU Worldwide has been sent in newsletters from your local Nordicon office and can be found under news.

    This is a strategic decision to guarantee a stable future and opportunities for further development of the Nordicon group as the leading neutral consolidator in both ocean and rail, as well as neutral terminal services in the Nordic region.
    




    ECU Worldwide is a perfect partner that creates great added value for Nordicon and our customers. A collaboration that gives us the conditions to achieve our goals in IT development and digital innovation. We will maintain Nordicon’s current customer portal My Nordicon and integrate our systems with ECU’s digital platform “ECU360”, which expands our possibilities for more efficient traceability of our door-to-door transports.
    




    This partnership will not involve any changes to Nordicon’s range of services, customer service, technical solutions, or management / organization. Everything remains as before except for agent changes that will take place continuously over the next 30-90 days (More detailed information will be sent out continuously).
    




    In connection with the change of network, ECU Worldwide has acquired 65% of the shares in the Nordicon group and the original owners retain 35%.

    Co2 emissions now on Nordicon rail
service!
    




    For many years, we have been providing CO2 emissions on our ocean & domestic transports. As our rail service has grown significantly & is now a popular alternative to ocean and air, it is natural that CO2 emissions are also provided on our rail services.
     
     The emissions are calculated on the transport from rail-hub to rail-hub but are also available on domestic transport in both China & the Nordics, in other words, you can choose to receive emissions all the way – door to door!
     
     Nordicon rail service gives you the CO2 emissions on:
     • Booking confirmation
     • Nordicon’s invoice
     • Own emission calculator in My Nordicon
     • Appears as a value on the rate calculation in My Nordicon
     
     Why is rail such a popular choice of transport?
     – Transit time for rail between China & the Nordics is about 14-18 days only.
     – Transport cost per kilo is significantly lower with rail compared to airfreight. Rail offers an attractive balance between cost and transit.

    API is short for Application Programming Interface and helps companies to share data in a controlled way. Although you may not be aware of it, you are probably using APIs on a daily basis. 
    




    Now we give our clients the possibility to connect to Nordicon´s API. A great opportunity to access the details you need to streamline your information workflow!
    




     How does it work? 
    




    API is in a way, a kind of library that is used for programs, systems, and applications to be able to talk to each other in a simple way. It works so that your system asks Nordicon’s API for a specific freight or sailing, Nordicon’s API extracts that information from our internal system and sends it back directly into your system. Quick and easy! 
    




    With the help of this API, you can use the information further on your own website or get information about a specific shipment directly into your system. In other words, you can retrieve as little or as much information as you want. The opportunity to get it exactly the way you want has never been closer.

    Now there is an easy way to get EDI with Nordicon!

    How would it be like to have EDI with Nordicon? To be able to book your LCL directly through your own computer system, and receive booking confirmation, shipping notes and status reports directly into your computer. We believe that it would save you a lot of time! 
    




    To make this happen, Nordicon has chosen to integrate with Unifaun, the leading supplier of Transport Administration systems in northern Europe.
